1. What This Website Is

Goochland County Criminal History is a privately run reference resource, not a government office. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve records on a visitor's behalf, conduct an official background check, or submit a filing for any person.

The resource identifies the custodians of Goochland County records, including the Goochland County Sheriff's Office, local court clerks, the Virginia Department of State Police Criminal Justice Information Services Division and its Central Criminal Records Exchange, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Access remains subject to laws such as the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and the criminal-history dissemination limits in Code § 19.2-389. Some pages also connect readers with outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

• Violate a local, Virginia, or federal law through your use of the site
• Stalk, threaten, or harass another person with information found here
• Rely on site content for a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
• Seek unauthorized entry to any account, server, system, or restricted area
• Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools through the pages
• Interfere with site performance or prevent another visitor from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information obtained here or through a linked tool to intimidate, stalk, harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct can also violate criminal or civil law. Virginia publishes registry information under laws including Code § 9.1-913 for public-safety notice. Public access does not authorize threats, vigilantism, employment blacklisting, housing discrimination, or any other unlawful act against a person listed in the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Goochland County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency as the FCRA defines that term. The site does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer tools intended to evaluate job applicants, rental applicants, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. Information from the site or a linked tool must not be used to:

• Make a decision to hire, retain, or dismiss a person
• Evaluate an applicant for housing or a lease
• Assess credit or establish an insurance premium
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit
• Carry out any other purpose governed by the FCRA

When a regulated purpose requires a background check, use an authorized process through the Virginia Department of State Police or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Descriptions of Goochland County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement rule applies to one person's facts. Seek advice from a Virginia-licensed attorney for that kind of assessment.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are offered "as is." No promise or warranty is made that:

• Information will always be complete, correct, or current
• Access will remain available without delay or interruption
• Every page will be free from defects, errors, or security weaknesses
• An advertising partner's search result will be accurate or comprehensive

Criminal-record status can change when a charge is filed, amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Updates may not appear at once, and omissions can occur. Only the record held by the Goochland County clerk, the Sheriff's Office, the Virginia Department of State Police, or another originating agency should be treated as an official government record.

Links may lead to the Goochland County Sheriff's Office, Virginia court systems, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Following a link takes you to a service controlled by someone else. Goochland County Criminal History does not control that service's availability, content, prices, privacy practices, or data handling and accepts no responsibility for them. Unless stated otherwise, Goochland County Criminal History or its content partners owns the text, graphics, logos, and code presented here. You may not reproduce, alter, distribute, or create derivative material from that content without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Goochland County Criminal History is not responsible for loss or damage arising from use of the site, reliance on its information, or use of a service reached through a link.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Goochland County Criminal History harmless against a claim, demand, or legal proceeding caused by your use of the site or your breach of these terms, including related costs and reasonable legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of Goochland County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
