Arrest History in Goochland County
The Goochland County Sheriff's Office, or GCSO, provides patrol and investigations throughout the county because Goochland has no incorporated city or town police department. Virginia State Police may make arrests on highways or within its state jurisdiction. Other state officers can create a record when their own authority applies. At the county's correctional properties, the Virginia Department of Corrections Office of Law Enforcement Services may investigate and make arrests tied to facility crimes. The agency that made the arrest remains the best source for its incident narrative.
A Goochland County arrest history may refer to more than one item. An officer's report states the claimed basis and events. A booking record notes intake and custody facts. Fingerprints link the arrest cycle to the Central Criminal Records Exchange, or CCRE. If a charge reaches court, the clerk opens a case-centered file. - Request the arrest report or booking sheet from GCSO. If VSP made the arrest, direct the report request to that agency instead.
- Use the VSP criminal-history process for an identity-linked Virginia record. The general-public SP-167 name check requires the searched person's notarized participation.
- Check the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator after a move into state custody or public supervision, then read the court disposition when it posts.

What an Arrest Record Shows
A booking sheet is custody-centered, not a complete account of guilt or innocence. The releasable fields may show when an intake occurred, which agency acted, the first listed charges, bail terms, and where the person was sent. Exact birth dates, Social Security numbers, victim identities, medical screening, juvenile data, confidential-source material, and active investigative details may be removed or withheld.

Read each field in time. The first charge is an accusation, a bond entry addresses release conditions, and a transfer only identifies custody. None supplies the final disposition. Virginia Code § 8.01-40.3 also creates civil liability for publishing charge or arrest information while soliciting payment to remove it. That rule targets paid-removal conduct and is not a blanket ban on lawful official release.
Goochland Arrest Booking to CCRE
The record path usually runs: arresting agency report → custodial intake and fingerprints → magistrate process and bail decision → court filing → clerk-reported disposition. Fingerprints tie the arrest cycle to VSP's CCRE repository and national systems. The repository is identity-centered, while the Goochland court file is case-centered and the sheriff report is event-centered.
A gap between those sources does not settle the question. No official public Goochland active-warrant database was located. Verify a possible warrant by calling GCSO at (804) 556-5349, then check General District and Circuit case details for a capias or warrant event and contact the correct clerk. A capias is court process that commands custody, often after a person fails to appear or follow a court order. Virginia does not give the public general access to the VCIN or NCIC law-enforcement warrant systems.
For one's own possible warrant, ask counsel, the court, or GCSO how to resolve it safely. Confirm any surrender or payment instruction through a published official number. Never send money because of an unsolicited warrant call. An unserved arrest warrant, sealed search warrant, or active investigative record may not be public, so a blank web result is not clearance.

An acquittal, nolle prosequi, or dismissal does not by itself erase the agency report or CCRE arrest cycle. Virginia's expungement and sealing rules control ordinary access, with major sealing changes taking effect on December 1, 2026.
